Photographing these beautiful furry friends for the Wellington Cats Protection League’s 2017 calendar has been a nice break between professional photography assignments. I also found doing so quite therapeutic, as most of the images were taken just after losing my dear mum.

This year the calendar features the happy stories of two absolutely gorgeous past residents of the shelter, Pulah and Jigger.

Volunteering at CPL is a lovely and rewarding experience. You not only get to help the cats in need but also get to meet people with a common interest at heart.

If you are looking for a furry companion now, please visit CPL’s website to give you an idea of all the lovely furry boys and girls the shelter has for adoption right now. CPL has a sponsor program for some of its high needs cats that are difficult to home due to medical or behavioural problems.

As with the past few years, all these images were taken at CPL’s shelter in Kingston. The text on each image page was provided by Stephanie and Rachel, and the photographs couldn’t have been taken without the help of Lorraine, who spent lots of time with me and the cats so I could get just the right pic. Thanks to them, and of course thanks to all the cats who were magnificent models for the calendar!
