2022 Outpawed Calendar

Happy New Year! And what better way to start the new year with pics of all the gorgeous kitties in the 2022 Outpawed calendar?

I was once again thrilled to take the photos for this charity’s fund-raising calendar. Sales of the calendar raise funds for the Outpawed Rescue Trust. Outpawed protects cats and kittens that have been abused, abandoned or forgotten in the Wellington region and Palmerston North.

Outpawed’s cats and kittens available for adoption are all desexed, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and registered, as well as vaccinated. Outpawed also runs a Trap-Neuter-Return programme for those adult cats that may find it difficult to socialise.

Unlike a number of other cat charities, Outpawed does not have a shelter. Rescued cats and kittens stay in the foster homes of volunteers until they are adopted out to their forever homes. And the photos of the cats in this year’s calendar were all taken at the homes of some of those wonderful fosterers and adopters.

Here are the images I took for the 2022 Outpawed Calendar: 13 images because adorable one-eyed Stevie (the July cat) also appears featured on the cover.

Outpawed 2021 Calendar

This year I was thrilled to take the photos for the Outpawed 2021 Calendar. Sales of the calendar raise funds for the Outpawed Rescue Trust. Outpawed protects cats and kittens that have been abused, abandoned or forgotten in the Wellington region and Palmerston North.

Unlike a number of other cat charities, Outpawed does not have a shelter. Rescued cats and kittens stay in the foster homes of volunteers until they are adopted out to their forever homes. All cats and kittens available for adoption are desexed, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped and registered, as well as vaccinated. Outpawed also has discounted desexing and microchipping campaigns for female cats in Porirua and the Manawatu.

2019 Calendar ~ Cats Protection Wellington

Although not as well known as larger organisations like the SPCA, Cats Protection Wellington (CPW) also cares for and helps cats to find their forever homes. All CPW’s cats have been desexed and vet checked before leaving the shelter.

If you are looking for a furry companion, please visit CPW’s website to give you an idea of all the lovely furry boys and girls the shelter has for adoption right now. But, if this is not the right time for you to adopt a cat, perhaps you could consider sponsoring one. CPW has a sponsor program for some of its high needs cats that are difficult to home due to medical or behavioural problems. I’ve had a number of adopted and sponsored kitties from CPW, and at the moment am fostering an adorable 17 year old Egyptian Mau: Xerxes.

You can find below a slideshow of the calendar’s monthly images, starting with the cover image of the gorgeous Daisy. This year the calendar features a centre spread providing an update on all the 2018 calendar cats – one year on.

A way to help this small organisation would be to purchase a calendar, and it makes a great Christmas present. You can order a calendar online.

As with the past few years, all the 2019 images were taken at CPW’s shelter in Kingston. Richard, Michele, Bex and Delwyn came up with the messages on each page. And the photographs couldn’t have been taken without the help of Bex, Reece, Katrina and Lorraine, who spent lots of time with me and the cats so I could get just the right pic. Thanks to them and of course thanks to all the cats who were wonderful models!

2018 Calendar ~ Cats Protection Wellington

This has been the sixth year I have had the pleasure of photographing and designing the calendar for Cats Protection Wellington. This small organisation cares and helps cats to find their forever homes. These cats have been desexed and vet checked before leaving the shelter.

Volunteering at Cats Protection Wellington (CPW) is a lovely and rewarding experience. You not only get to help the cats in need but also get to meet people with a common interest at heart. Besides helping the cats, you get to meet really nice people – so please consider spending your corporate volunteer day at CPW.

If you are looking for a furry companion now, please visit CPW’s website to give you an idea of all the lovely furry boys and girls the shelter has for adoption right now. 2017 Calendar ~ Cats Protection League Wellington

Photographing these beautiful furry friends for the Wellington Cats Protection League’s 2017 calendar has been a nice break between professional photography assignments. I also found doing so quite therapeutic, as most of the images were taken just after losing my dear mum.

This year the calendar features the happy stories of two absolutely gorgeous past residents of the shelter, Pulah and Jigger.

Volunteering at CPL is a lovely and rewarding experience. You not only get to help the cats in need but also get to meet people with a common interest at heart.

2016 Calendar ~ Cats Protection League Wellington

I love my work!

Once again I had the pleasure of photographing these amazing furry friends for one of my favourite non-profit organisations in Wellington, the Cats Protection League. This small organisation cares and helps cats to find their forever homes. These cats have been desexed and vet checked before leaving the shelter. It is such a pleasure to volunteer there too. Besides helping the cats you get to meet really nice people so please consider spending your corporate volunteer day at CPL. And remember, if you cannot adopt a cat right now perhaps you could sponsor one. CPL has a CPL sponsor program for some of the very high needs cats.

All the images were taken at CPL’s shelter in Kingston, and the text on each image page was provided by Stephanie, Kris and Amy. If you don’t know about this non-profit organisation, I invite you to take a look at their website and learn about them. They have been operating for more than 30 years and they do more than a magnificent job helping and re-homing abandoned cats. Wellington Cats Protection League is run solely by volunteers and relies on funding from public donations, fundraising activities, and their members.

All the images were taken at CPL’s shelter in Kingston, and the text on each image page was provided by Rachel Chapman. The photographs couldn’t have been taken without the help of Lorraine Alcock and Monique Tuifao, who both spent lots of time with me and the cats so I could get just the right images. And, of course, thanks to all the cats who were magnificent models for the calendar!

Once again I have had the pleasure of photographing and designing the Wellington Cats Protection League calendar – this time for 2014. If you don’t know about this non-profit organisation, I invite you to take a look at their website and learn about them. They have been operating for 30 years and they do more than a magnificent job helping and re-homing abandoned cats. They even have a de-sexing program where they provide a significantly discounted price to have your cat de-sexed. Wellington Cats Protection League is run solely by volunteers and relies on funding from public donations, fundraising activities, and their members.

All the images were taken at CPL’s shelter in Kingston or their ‘Kitten Inn’ in Kelson, and the text on each image page was provided by Linda MacManus. This year I had the pleasure of photographing and re-designing the 2013 calendar for the Wellington Cat’s Protection League. If you don’t know about this non-profit organisation, I invite you to take a look at their website and learn about them. They have been operating for 30 years and they do more than a magnificent job helping and re-homing abandoned cats. They even have a de-sexing program where they provide a significantly discounted price to have your cat de-sexed. I was delighted when Lesley, the fundraising coordinator, asked me to re-design the calendar and photograph some of the cats. All the images were taken at the shelter, and the text on each calendar page and on each image page was provided by Megan and Lesley. All the photographs couldn’t have been done without the help of Katrina, Yolanda, Eric, Lois and Margaret. The biggest thanks is reserved for Lorraine who spent many hours with me and the cats so I could get just the right images. And, of course, thanks to all the cats who were magnificent models for the calendar!
